Passionate about supporting the community, especially in areas of mental health and wellbeing and gambling harm prevention, with a focus on creating a safe, inclusive space where people feel understood, supported, and never alone through MFH.

Bhabish is a multi-award-winning accredited Social Worker, Educator, Clinical Consultant, Certified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Community Engagement Leader, Co-Founder and President of Mates From Himalayas (MFH). With more than a decade of experience across academia, mental health, community engagement, gambling harm prevention, public health, youth leadership, governance, and evidence-based practice in Western Sydney and Nepal, he has worked extensively with CALD and other marginalised communities. His work focuses on cultural safety, equity, and empowerment, and has strengthened partnerships across the health, education, and community sectors. He has led community engagement initiatives across Greater Western Sydney and the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, co-founded Nepali Students at Western Sydney, and hosted 42 episodes of The Everest Show with Bhabish, reaching more than 110,000 viewers. Before moving to Australia, he contributed to Child Friendly Local Governance, WASH, disaster relief, UNICEF-supported planning, SDG training, and youth media in Nepal, including serving as the first Youth Home Minister in the Federal Youth Parliament of Nepal.

Believes in the power of community and clear communication to create meaningful change, ensuring MFH’s efforts reach those in need while helping break stigma around sensitive issues.

A dedicated Social Worker and Mental Health Clinician focused on community wellbeing and mental health advocacy, working to promote inclusivity and empower migrant communities and individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds. Experience spans roles in community mental health services and university support for domestic and international students.Served as President of Nepali Students at Western Sydney (2024), leading a community of 500+ students through cultural events, mental health initiatives, and peer support programs. Recognised as NSW International Student of the Year 2023 by the NSW Government for outstanding contributions to student welfare and community engagement.Co-founded Mates From Himalayas, serves as its Secretary, and has also served as Secretary of the Australian Nepalese Blood Donor Association. Committed to supporting migrant communities, student well-being, and broader social impact across New South Wales.

Aashish is an award-winning international student pursuing a Master’s in Social Work, with a strong focus on leadership, advocacy, and community impact. He has been recognized as a Highly Commended NSW International Student of the Year 2024 and received the WSU Chancellor’s Unsung Hero Award at the ZEST Awards 2025.He actively contributes to student representation, wellbeing initiatives, and leadership programs, and currently serves as an elected Director on the WSUSU Board, supporting strategic decision-making and student advocacy. He is also the Treasurer of Mates From Himalayas (MFH), further demonstrating his commitment to community engagement and organizational leadership.

Experienced Community Engagement Officer at CatholicCare Sydney, supporting GambleAware initiatives across South East Sydney. Holding a Master of Public Health from Torrens University and an academic background in Microbiology, he specialises in community outreach, health education, and public health initiatives aimed at creating meaningful social impact.Passionate about promoting responsible gambling awareness and supporting individuals, families, and culturally diverse communities, he brings strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, along with fluency in multiple languages. His professional expertise includes project coordination, data management, community engagement, and program delivery.Previously, he worked as a Coordinator at Officeworks, where he developed strong leadership, team management, and operational coordination skills. He is committed to building inclusive, informed, and empowered communities through collaborative and impact-driven work.
